About Geralds of Knutsford
Gerald’s Story….
Gerald is a highly qualified gemmologist and a member of the National Association of Goldsmiths, driven by a lifelong passion for diamonds and coloured gemstones.
In 1970, Gerald embarked on his jewellery journey with an apprenticeship at Perry Greaves in Birmingham. This invaluable experience led him back to his homeland, South Africa, where he established two jewellery shops and developed global connections for sourcing diamonds and gemstones.
After many successful years in South Africa, Gerald decided to return to England in search of the perfect location for a unique, bespoke jewellery shop. He discovered and settled on the charming market town of Knutsford, renowned for its independent shops.
Founded in 1985 at 12 Princess Street in Knutsford, Gerald’s of Knutsford proudly marks 40 years of success in 2025.
Our Services
We provide a wide array of services, from designing and commissioning jewellery to sourcing diamonds and gemstones, as well as repairing and remodelling. Our design service comes with no charge or obligation. We are pleased to create a selection of hand-drawn designs to reimagine your precious jewellery heirlooms and provide pricing for any that catch your interest.
Customer service is at the heart of what we do. We take pride in being friendly, welcoming, and approachable. Our traditional approach to customer service ensures that nothing is too much trouble, whether it’s for a spectacular commission or a small repair. We are honoured to have served three generations of clients in and around Cheshire, meeting their jewellery needs.

Our window showcases a stunning collection of diamond and coloured stone jewellery, expertly crafted in our workshop to the highest standards. Additionally, we offer a wide selection of vintage and pre-owned jewellery.
On a side note, we are extremely dog-friendly and warmly encourage you to bring along your four-legged friend when you visit us!

Our Team
Alison
Alison has been a valued member of Gerald’s team since 2007 and has been a director of the business since 2012. She brings extensive experience in the jewellery trade, having previously owned her own jewellery shop and workshop. Outside of work, Alison enjoys being creative and cherishing moments with her family, especially her beloved dog, Luther.
Helen
Helen, a qualified jeweller and goldsmith, has worked with Gerald since 1997. She can assist you with all things related to designing and remodelling, and loves nothing more than creating a page of designs to remodel your beloved pieces of jewellery. Outside of work, Helen enjoys spending time pottering in her garden.
Anousha
Anousha, a qualified jeweller, has been part of Gerald’s since 2015. Along with assisting customers with their enquiries and handling gemstone and jewellery orders, she manages all aspects of our social media. The beautiful hand you see on our Instagram belongs to Anousha! Outside of work, she is an avid Swifty and enjoys spending time with her Cavapoo, Lily.
Joanne
Joanne joined the team in 2024, bringing over thirty years of experience in the luxury watch and jewellery industry. She takes great pleasure in delivering outstanding customer service and is a wedding ring specialist. Outside of work, Joanne finds joy in relaxing with her French Bulldog, Lucy.
Emma
Emma, Gerald’s daughter, joined the family business in 2023 and now leads the accounts department. She also assists with client liaison and sales. Outside of work, Emma stays busy with her children, Elizabeth and Alfie.
Charlotte
Charlotte, Gerald’s second daughter, contributes her extensive experience to the family business in an advisory capacity. In addition to her professional commitments, she is a devoted mother to Tobias and her beloved fur daughter, Winnie!
Melanie
Melanie joined the team in 2024, bringing with her many years of experience in the luxury skincare industry. She takes great pleasure in serving customers and cleaning and polishing their jewellery. Outside of work, Melanie enjoys exploring the Cornish countryside with her two dogs.
